Register for PROSE POEM on Zoom

“What is poetry and if you know what poetry is what is prose,” Gertrude Stein states rather than asks, suggesting that the distinction is either unknowable or unessential. But is it? Is it not possible and desirable to determine whether a standalone paragraph aspires to be a poem or micro-prose?

This webinar is for you if (1) you’re a poet with subject matter you haven’t been able to capture in a lineated poem; (2) you’re a prose-writer seeking a form for your economic, lyrical voice; or (3) you’ve taken my multi-session Prose Poem workshop but you’re desiring a refresher with all-new prose-poem models.

This session is an overview of the various strains of prose poetry, with clearly applicable distinctions, to investigate, across the prose-poem spectrum, the sentence as a structural unit, prose as a movement of language, and the prose poem as a vehicle of subject matter.
